I began the series of articles about the roECOvillage Pădureni – The Romanian Village 3.0 project in November 2023 with “The Identity Crisis of a Society”, and after covering what I saw as the essential milestones of a possible path, I am concluding this stage with the shortest and perhaps the most comprehensive of them all.
The complex process of thinking strategies, which we conceptually call mind
, has created everything we know, everything we perceive as being the world… of humans.
The world of humans, because “the World” extends far beyond our perceptions—a vast and complex Manifestation that we explore, strive to understand, and perhaps, at some point, will come to know well enough to (co)“exist” with.
“The emergent, self-organizing, embodied, and relational process that we call the mind” is a definition which I have taken from Daniel Siegel via Anamaria Sănduță, integrated through my own experience, found clear, and now propose further.
The term “emergent” is perhaps the most subtle and delicate to understand and internalize as a lived experience. I highlight it only as a clue, because we are speaking of a process, not a formula.
From the first spoken word, the first musical note, the first knife, the first hoe, to the Pyramids, the Great Wall of China, the Golden Gate Bridge, nuclear fusion, artistic masterpieces in multiple forms, rockets to other planets, wars, disasters, horrors, conflicts, Heaven, and Hell—all are the imagined outcomes of the human mind’s processes and systems of thought.
Our mental maps have designed systems to organise nearly every aspect of human life—and at a certain point, even the life of the entire planet.
Happiness
and unhappiness
, equally and concretely, at every moment, day after day.
Being aware of this reality, a simple and clear question arises, as obvious as daylight:
If the mind is the creative source of the world of humans, isn’t it only natural that we should first and foremost to research and learn about it? Shouldn’t we study, understand, and „master” the mind, so that we may also consciously shape and manage our world, fully aware of the causes behind it?
